Mr. Cecil's California Ribs Review
MR. CECIL’S CALIFORNIA RIBS
I'm always one to try a new hotspot, especially if it is about barbecue! New food,
new environments, new faces, are a welcome addition to our Restaurant reviews. After
hearing from a variety of sources that Mr. Cecil's California Ribs were great, I
wanted to see for myself, and what I found was a splendid place, with friendly service
and food to match any barbecue style fare in the area The ribs at Mr. Cecil's California
Ribs are definitely home style, delicious and incomparable, you can't find it anywhere
else!
Everyone knows the Legendary Mr. Cecil's California Ribs on Pico Boulevard. If you
don't stop here your stomach will never forgive you! From the moment you enter the
charming, rustic Mr. Cecil's California Ribs your eyes will immediately catch the
cozy ambiance and how great this place is, I truly enjoyed being there, and before
you have time to soak it all in.... a warm and friendly greeting from Jonathan Burrows
,
the owner, as he welcome you into his home.

We were hungry and we absolutely love Ribs, so naturally you must order all of the
sides, because they are all delicious. The sides at Mr. Cecil's are well above standard,
which is only to be expected at a place with cloth napkins, mood lighting, valet
parking, and the other trappings of a fancy restaurant. Instead of the usual puffy
bread and beans, most dishes come with your choice of cole slaw, hushpuppies, roasted
corn, baked potato, and, uh, beans, of course. The hushpuppies were great, fluffy
and fine. The corn on the cob is the standout, grilled precisely so that the kernels
are sweet and tender. The cole slaw very good as well and the BBQ beans were pretty
good beans with a big taste of bacon, and you must have the French Fries served
in a huge basket! All of these sides, I guarantee you were pure heaven!
I ordered the Catfish Dinner with hushpuppies; it was "to die for". Real "Award
Winning" catfish on the bone fried to perfection. In the mood for other fried foods?
Try the Buffalo Wings, with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. And of course
the king of the night: the Triple Combo, 1/2 Rack Baby Back or St. Louis ribs, 2
beef ribs & and a 1/2 Rack Baby Rack, they all were over the top and truly AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ribs here also aren't sauced at all, but two sauces are provided—a good sweetly
tangy sauce that isn't at all hot and a "Cajun" sauce that isn't really much hotter,
but is still good. The menu urges you to try the ribs without sauce before adding
any, which is a good idea. Some people may not want the sauce at all, while others
will appreciate what it really does for the meat. You can get a variety of choices;
Smoked Tri-Tip Steak dinner, BBQ Chicken Dinner, Mr. Cecil's Burger, Flame-Grilled
Vegetable Kabobs, then also a Full Rack, Half Rack, or One-Third Rack on all three
winners; the Baby Back Ribs, St. Louis Style Ribs, and the Beef Ribs.

Now you know your "home", relax let a notch our two out of your belt and start planning
your next trip back to Mr. Cecil's California Ribs, you will want to come back....Trust
us.
There is also a variety of Mr. Cecils Sandwich Specialties and please save room
for dessert. We were already full, but I was told the Mr.Cecil’s Rum Cake was not
to miss!

The service will only compliment your meal at Mr. Cecil's California Ribs, as it
is pure Southern courtesy smothered with a healthy dose of charm and efficiency!
Our special thank you to Mr. Jonathan Burrows, the owner who was amazing, charming,
friendly and his way of welcoming us was very special and unforgettable. This is
certainly the best place for Ribs in town!
