10th Anniversary Gala honors John Williams and Ginny Mancini


WHO / WHAT:

The Henry Mancini Institute (HMI)
celebrates its 10th Anniversary at the
Kodak Theatre on June 17th 2006. The HMI Concert and Gala Celebration stars
13-time GRAMMY®-winner Tony Bennett and features the HMI Orchestra with appearances by Monica Mancini and Dave Koz who will also host the event. Honorary guests include Academy Award® winning film composer John Williams, who will receive the esteemed Hank Award for distinguished contribution to
American music, a tribute of excellence previously presented to entertainment greats such as Quincy Jones and Clint Eastwood. The Hank Award will be presented
by GRAMMY® Award winning HMI Artistic Director, Patrick Williams, who
will also lead the HMI Orchestra. President and co-founder of the HMI, Ginny Mancini, will receive the Legacy Award for her visionary leadership and generous philanthropy in music education. Julie Andrews will present the Legacy Award.
The evening will be filled with Mancini classics such as the “Pink Panther Theme”
and “Two For The Road” and the exclusive post-concert Gala will be held in the
chic Hollywood & Highland Annex with dinner catered by Wolfgang Puck.
