Gardens Restaurant Review

Located at the magnificent Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Gardens is an
elegant yet comfortable restaurant with outdoor seating among lush
foliage on the Gardens Terrace.

Gardens couples quality gourmet classics and creative fusion techniques to bring guests the consummate dining experience in their refined, yet vibrant, dining room that features a dramatic, theatrical décor of reds and golds. Crisp, white tablecloths and gold-striped undercloths feature settings of Limoges china. Four large 18th-century Italian oil paintings grace the walls on two sides of the bright, windowed room.

Add to that a monumental selection of drinks with a fabulous wine and spirits collection, and whether you start dinner with a signature martini or finish
your lunch with one of their delectable desserts, you will be delighted
with this wonderful restaurant.

Long Island / Champagne

Executive Chef Ashley James has added his own special brand of culinary magic to the menu. He manages to consistently deliver innovative, taste tempting creations to the increasing number of satisfied diners that visit Gardens restaurant. Whether dining outdoors under a canopy or in their tastefully appointed dining room, Gardens offers almost everyone something that will be at the top of their list of favorites.

Banana, Lemongrass and Coconut Soup

To begin our meal, our knowledgeable and accommodating server, brought us 3 appetizers which I absolutely loved and never had tried; the Banana, Lemongrass
and Coconut Soup; with lemongrass and shrimp skewer - exquisitely delicious the shrimp skewer were artistically arranged which was then enhanced with the
wonderful taste of Banana and Lemongrass – divine!

Also presented was a delicious selecions of homemade breads with
sundried chili pepper tomato and basil pesto paste.

At our server’s suggestion, our meals were offset by appropriately timed glasses
of a light, clean Chardonnay, and a rich, full-bodied Pinot Noir.

Hot Smoked Duck Breast and Duck Confit Ravioli

The second appetizer was the Hot Smoked Duck Breast and
Duck Confit Ravioli; very delicate in taste and presentation.

After two delightfully decadent appetizers, we opted to forgo the salad course, which Executive Chef Ashley James choose for us; the Warm Shitake Mushroom and Fresh Hearts of Palm, delicious prepared with Haricot Vert and Walnut Sherry Dressing, and the Eggplant Confit and Buratta Cheese; a Candied Tomato, Arbequina Olive Oil and Aged Balsamic, vinegar dressing was then drizzled over this spectacular salad, which proved to be at an extraordinary level.

Moroccan Spice Roasted Maine Lobster

Executive Chef Ashley James graciously assisted in presenting our entrees: a fabulous Moroccan Spice Roasted Maine Lobster; it was prepared to perfection and
placed with Crispy Bell Pepper Brik and preserved Lemon Aioli.

Colorado Lamb Medallions

Also served was an unusual and satisfying treat referred to as Colorado Lamb Medallions. This fork- tender cut is taken from an area adjacent to the upper tenderloin and was a steak aficionado’s delight along with the Arugula and Pine
Nut Crust, Mediteranean Vegetable Tian and Basil Polenta cake.

16-oz Prime Kansas City Steak from the Grill

From a generous selection of steaks often not found outside steakhouses, my date ordered the 16-oz Prime Kansas City Steak from the Grill, served with Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil Potato Puree on a Bearnaise Sauce and Candied Tomato Chimichurri. The fine meat was bursting with flavor while the condiments created the perfect foil which proved to be an absolute delight to the palate.

Black Cod Fillet Roasted with Citrus and Sesame Glaze

We were also surprised by the Black Cod Fillet Roasted with Citrus and Sesame Glaze served on a Green Basmati Rice and Tamarind Sauce. The effect was astounding—momentary shock at the seemingly unfinished dishes turned to
delight as we realized our plates were ripe with creativity.

Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake

While delightfully satisfied, we could not pass up dessert. Here, as on the rest of the menu, playful creativity shined. The Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake was a study on contrast, with Dulce de Leche Ice Cream, it was a delightfully unique surprise, a twist on the traditional that was both sour and sweet at the same time.

The Mallorcan Almond Tarte

The Mallorcan Almond Tarte definitely takes the sophistication level of the ordinary rendition up a notch. Thick, rich and creamy, it was a true classic when
garnished with chocolate orange sorbert.

Cotton Candy Arrangement

We also enjoyed a slice of devastatingly luxuriant home made chocolate, served on a cotton candy arrangement that is truly a feast to your eyes. Brilliant and delicious.

Thoroughly satisfied, as we left the table we stopped briefly to chat with some friends who were dining al fresco and had also decided to enjoy a visit to the Gardens that evening. We all agreed that this is the place to be and to go back again and again.

Whether you choose to be seated inside, or outside, Gardens Restaurant offers the ultimate in unparalleled, gourmet dining along with a spectacular ambiance
and view in practically every direction.

Without a doubt, Gardens has the stuff that legendary restaurants are made of.
