George's at the Cove Restaurant Review
"California dreamin' becomes reality" at this "idyllic" aerie, "a La Jolla tradition of
sun and sea" where patrons "dolphin-watch" (and "star-watch") while dining in
the "beautiful" "fabulous terrace" "overlooking the ocean"; but it's not just the "spectacular vistas" that "absolutely bewitch" fans—the "excellent"
Cal cuisine and "charming service" "wow" 'em as well.
From the 180-degree panoramic vista of the Pacific Ocean, this romantic retreat oozes aphrodisiac design elements and should feature kneepads on the
menu for impromptu marriage proposals.

George’s Famous Bean Soup
At George’s the ocean dictate its design philosophy by sprawling across about
100 percent of the restaurant outdoor patio to maximize views for guests.
With a menu as impressive as the ocean view, executive chef has plucked plenty of surprises from earth's great swimming pool. A lunch menu that offers great salads, hamburgers, tacos, and drinks, it is a delectable New American menu, but the
tasty George’s famous bean soup is a unique, flavorful highlight. I heard it is
Oprah Winfrey’s favorite, and I now know why, it is simply delicious.

Fish Tacos
We shared a Ceasar Salad with Jumbo Shrimp, it was perfect and fresh, then we
tried their famous Fish Tacos, very good, and tasty. The special of the day,
was the Ono, which was a perfect prelude to my main course.

As far as desserts among so many choices, we decided to try their famous Pear Huckleberry Cobler with almond crumble and Vanilla Ice Cream,
another great choice, it was superb!

Whereas most restaurants could get away with serving up George’s prime geography alone, they spend sufficient energy engaging the taste buds of a highly discerning
La Jolla clientele. And like a few of the celebrities who visit, they
succeed beyond anyone's wildest imagination.
