The Beach on Sunset Restaurant Review
The Beach On Sunset is a fabulous 2 floor restaurant bar and lounge where
guests may have a cocktails before dining in the vaulted restaurant with
tableside preparation of global, cuisine in classic Hollywood style.
The complex includes 2 magnificent bars, outside dining and also upstairs dining
and bar. The second floor boasts two VIP lounges: one that could be like a
private dining room; and where it energizes the atmosphere (not that
it’s necessary considering the action already in place).
VIP Lounges
Outdoor Patio Area
To distinguish The Beach on Sunset it starts with the casual décor, and extends through to the food.
Chef Andrew Crowley and Michael Brown like to mix
ingredients and desserts are sweet but complement the meal well.
Elegantly
situated in the center of it all is a restaurant that is an exceptional standout in terms
of its fine food, service and astoundingly complete collection of the greatest drinks,
we started with the amazing drink for 2 called: Shark Attack, it was so big, that
even 4 people we not able to finish it! It contained Bacardi Superior, Brandy,
Orange juice, Curacao, Pineapple juice, and it was delicious.
Fog Cutter, Rum Keg, Tidal Wave, Shark Attack, Wipe Out
The Beach On Sunset is so very good that it has not only become a celebrated
dining spot for a steady stream of local residents, it is also the hands down
restaurant of choice for a majority of guests from all over the world.
Long Island Ice Tea
Mojito
Thanks to its extremely talented Executive Chef Michael Brown and a legion of dedicated staff members, The Beach On Sunset has now earned the reputation of being one Hollywood’s finest lounge and restaurant bar, despite the fact that is surrounded by some of the most prestigious dining establishments in the entire city.
Champagne
Our charming server, Tony
On the evening of our visit, the dining room began to fill quickly even though it was barely 8:00 o'clock when we arrived. Our charming young server, Tony started us
out with a couple of drinks, such as the Long Island Ice Tea and Mojito. My
choice was the Champagne from France. This refined beginning to our
dining experience turned out to be a most appropriate introduction to
the wonderful food that was yet to come.
Before going any further, it is important to note that The Beach On Sunset goes
to such a great length in procuring the finest of ingredients, whether it be from
a local specialty produce farm or the international marketplace, that
they are in a class by themselves.
Filet Mignon Tacos
Tuna Tartare with Avocado
The immense talent of Executive Chef Andrew Crowley became apparent
when we tasted some of his amazing small plates, it was the
perfect beginning to our magnificent meal.
Marinated Tiger Shrimp Skewers with Pineapple and Cilantro
We had 5 choices and they were: the Blackened Filet Mignon Tacos, with Pico de Gallo and Avocado, the Tuna Tartare, with Avocado, Ginger Vinaigrette & Fried Lotus Chips, the Marinated Tiger Shrimp Skewers with Pineapple and Cilantro,
a delicious and one of the best Flash Fried Calamari, with Chili Aioli Sauce
and Asian Slaw, and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Basil
Remoulade, marinated Tomatoes & Watercress.
Flash Fried Calamari, with Chili Aioli Sauce
Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
Heirloom Tomato Salad
The flavor profile of each of these small plates were extremely sophisticated and refined, we all enjoyed it very much! We also tasted a great salad the Heirloom Tomato Salad, with Red Onion, Watercress, Balsamic & Roquefort Dressing.
Grilled Ahi Tuna
Our entrées were nothing short of awe-inspiring. My guest had the Grilled Ahi Tuna that had a rich flavor and firm texture. It was masterfully served alongside Fresh Carrots, Shiitake Mushrooms, Snow Peas in a Shiso Broth.
Roasted Scottish Salmon
I was enchanted with
my Roasted Scottish Salmon, one of the favorites
among customers, and which
was every bit as good as the fine
cabrilla and grouper caught in the Sea of Cortez.
Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Garlic Potatoes, Broccolini, and Truffle Butter
We then enjoyed a flavorful selection of red wines with our meat course consisting
of the Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Garlic Potatoes, Broccolini, and Truffle Butter.
Prime Filet Mignon, with Roquefort Potatoes, Sautéed Spinach
My guest tried the Prime Filet Mignon, with Roquefort Potatoes, Sautéed Spinach. The savory combinations in both of these dishes were exceptionally well crafted.
Signature Mac-n-Cheese
Sweet Potatoe Fries
We could not miss two of the most amazing sides: Their signature Mac-n-Cheese,
and their most delicious shoestring, Sweet Potatoe Fries…To simply
describe it as fantastic would be an unjust understatement.
Pineapple upside-down cake
Cookiies and Ice Cream
Tony, our server, showed up at our table with a couple of delightful desserts, Pineapple upside-down cak, Cookiies and Ice Cream, and the Chocolate cake,
each was a masterpiece of innovation, presentation ...and flavor!

The Beach on Sunset features evolving, California cuisine that embraces the bounty
of seasonal products, those who revel in fine wine and food but don't take
advantage of the opportunity to dine here are doing themselves, and
their taste buds, a great disservice.
This is one of the best restaurants and lounges in town and once again it has
presented Hollywood with another gem of a restaurant that sets a
challenging standard for its competitors to follow.
