TIKKUN Holistic SPA
Tikkun is an ancient word that translates to “repairing the world.” The goal at the Tikkun SPA is for guests to be elevated to a sixth sense of
well-being and tranquility.
Tikkun Spa is an enchanting place, beautifully lit and imaginatively decorated. The menu is voluminous; in addition to a long list
of inspired traditions from diverse cultures including Japanese onsen, Korean heat treatment rooms, Nordic sauna, Turkish hammam, and
bathing rituals from Asia. The spa menu includes therapeutic massage services such as shiatsu, lomi lomi, Thai, Swedish, pre and post
pregnancy and deep tissue treatments.
Tikkun Spa is said to be the first to incorporate restorative environment with treatments and services inspired by centuries of spa culture
that promote health, relaxation, and a sense of community. Developed upon a holistic foundation, therapeutic massage, hydrotherapy, and skin
care services are combined with various wellness programs designed to support health and contribute to a state of well being. Indeed Tikkun Spa
has one of the largest selections of fine treatments we've experienced. At the Women’s Spa Area you will find a selection of fine treatments
such as the Women’s Soaking Pool which includes various medicinal herbs such as mugwort (a medicinal herb also known as angelica tea) are
alternated in the soaking tub provided in the women’s spa area. The Herbal Steam Sauna, which is the best treatment that opens the pores
and provides detoxification, the Traditional Korean Body Scrub, I was told that you need at least 20 minutes of soaking and sitting in the
heated rooms followed by showering is recommended to soften the skin in preparation for the body scrub. The coed areas include: Korean
Hwangto Clay Room; the room is designed to create a gentle heat that will increase blood circulation, promote a sweat and stimulate
detoxification thorough the skin. The Himalayan Salt Room; The Tikkun Salt Room is constructed of Himalayan salt blocks that cover
far-infrared panels. Jade Room which is combined with far-infrared rays is beneficial before and after treatments to promote rest,
increase circulation and release of toxins through the skin. The Ice room which offers a refreshing contrast to the heated treatment
rooms and the body scrub room which is designed to remove skin’s dead surface layer causing the blood vessels to dilate, increasing
circulation and improving skin tone.
After having an introduction to the heat treatment rooms, and a wonderful massage, the desire to spend more time in this delightful
atmosphere was powerful. Various medicinal herbs such as mugwort (a medicinal herb also known as angelica tea) are alternated in the
soaking tub provided in the women’s spa area. Beneficial for relaxation and stimulating circulation, practitioners of natural medicine
also use these medical herbs as remedies for disorders of the digestive and reproductive systems. Exfoliating body scrubs are performed
in semi private stalls adjacent to the soaking pool. The treatment removes the skin’s dead surface layer causing the blood vessels to dilate,
increasing circulation and improving skin tone. The open nature of the body scrub area is typical of Korean and Turkish hammams. If you
prefer a body scrub in a private room please indicate this request at the time of your appointment and we will try to accommodate you based
upon room availability. At least 20 minutes of soaking and sitting in the heated rooms followed by showering is recommended to soften the
skin in preparation for the body scrub.
Traditional Sauna
Traditional sauna is provided for use before and after treatments. The controlled heat from the sauna will cause blood vessels to dilate,
increasing blood to the skin surface, while decreasing blood pressure, and stimulating a sweat. It is important to stay hydrated and
follow suggested guidelines for sauna use provided adjacent to door entry.
Tikkun’s environmentally-friendly Clay Room is composed of Hwangto clay tiles
and clay surface finish over far-infrared wall and floor panels. The room is designed
to create a gentle heat that will increase blood circulation, promote a sweat and
stimulate detoxification thorough the skin. Aged charcoal ceiling elements contribute
to air purification.
Himalayan Salt Room
Salt rooms are effective for generating high quantities of negative ions, which are conducive for relaxation while micro particles
of salt help purify the lungs. The Tikkun Salt Room is constructed of Himalayan salt blocks that cover far-infrared panels.
These invisible rays penetrate the human body.
