5th Annual White Light White Night
Walk With Sally has once again created a fantastic event where their hard work and
great efforts has created a
smashing success has helped recruit volunteers, raise
awareness and raise money needed to sustain Walk With
Sally into the future.
The local nonprofit Walk With Sally event, which was founded by Nick Arquette,
once again held its 5th
annual White Light White Night celebration to raise
money to fund mentor programs for children whose lives
have been
affected by a family member being diagnosed with cancer.
The festive event took place in Redondo Beach where they transformed
a parking lot into a beautifully
tented venue featuring a VIP area, silent
auction, food and beverage stations, and a grand stage where
the main attraction was the "Blues Traveler" band.

The silent auction was a great success with many great items. This year they
used a new method of bidding
utilizing an iphone type device called BidPal with
an application running on it to allow bidders to place and
view their bids without
having to run back and forth to the silent auction area. This new concept
seemed to
be very well received as people enjoyed using it to bid on
their favorite items.
Mary Beth McDade (channel 5 news journalist)
did a great job helping the auction progress by announcing
the items
and generating interest in all of the best items available.
The silent auction included items
from Patron Tequila, vacation packages,
restaurant packages, Dodger tickets, Kings tickets, baskets from
Basketeer,
a signed Kings Jersey by Drew Doughty, a signed script from Two and a
Half Men, assorted wines,
gift baskets, and yoga and fitness classes.

Local restaurants and beverages from the south bay included food from
Bluewater Grill, Zinc Lounge at the
Shade Hotel, Sashi, Ortega 120,
Gaetano's, Rock'N Fish, Twelve + Highland, Hot's Kitchen,
Silvio's Brazilian BBQ,
Patron, BrewCo, and
Rock & Brews just to name a few.
The stage events began with a live auction where Mary Beth McDade
(channel 5 news journalist) and they sold
many great items including a surf
board and many other opportunities to donate to the Walk With Sally Charity.
The Blues Traveler band played the rest of the evening and was a huge hit
with everyone crowding around to enjoy
the music and take pictures.
