HONORARY CHAIR AND CELEBRITY CHEF, ERIC GREENSPAN
Santa Monica, CA –Saturday, July 13 - The 2nd Annual Taste of Summer, a one night only exclusive food, wine and beer tasting event, will be hosted by The Fulfillment Fund Leadership Council and honorary chair, Chef Eric Greenspan, of The Foundry on Melrose, The Roof on Wilshire and upcoming Greenspan’s Grilled Cheese. This fundraiser will benefit the Fulfillment Fund, a college access organization that helps make college a reality for thousands of students growing up in educationally and economically under-resourced communities. Chef Eric Greenspan states, "I've always viewed my most cherished and important role as a chef is to be a teacher, so education is very important to me. I'm honored and humbled to help such a giving organization open the doors of higher education to many future students."
The Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica will provide the backdrop for over 500 guests for what is becoming one of the hottest events of the summer. Attendees will enjoy a sampling of delicious food and drinks from an array of world-renowned and local chefs, restaurants, wineries and breweries. Music will be provided by Wakeful Heart Productions with a live acoustic performance by Cliff Beach & Luis Narino of Noble Creatures.
In addition to Chef Greenspan’s The Roof on Wilshire vendors include Wolfgang Puck Catering, Whole Foods, Stone Brewing, Silverado Vineyards, Locanda Positano, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Wood & Vine, The Engaging Gourmet, Alma, Sams by the Beach, 9021Pho, and many more. Key sponsors for the event are Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, DirecTV, CBS, Google and Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. All of the proceeds will benefit the Fulfillment Fund. “We're so grateful to Chef Eric Greenspan, and all the Taste of Summer sponsors, for supporting our efforts to make college a reality for low-income students in Los Angeles,” said Fulfillment Fund CEO Kenny Rogers. This event raised over $50,000 last year for this non-profit organization.
Serving the Los Angeles community for over 35 years, the Fulfillment Fund makes college a reality for students in educationally and economically under-resourced communities. By providing a college access curriculum, college counseling, mentoring, scholarships and other individualized support, the Fulfillment Fund helps students get to college and realize their educational dreams. More than 90% of Fulfillment Fund high school graduates go on to college, compared to 54% of low-income students nationally.
