TOTAL WINE & MORE OPENS IN LONG BEACH
Company to bring 50 new jobs to the local community.
Long Beach, Calif., (June 1, 2015) –
Total Wine & More, America’s largest independent retailer of fine wine, spirits, and beer,
has announced the opening of its Long Beach, California location, bringing 50 new jobs and more than 14,000 product
selections to the local community.
“Our business model is centered on giving customers what they deserve - outstanding service, selection, and price,” explains
David Trone, who co-owns Total Wine & More with his brother Robert. “The opening of our Long Beach location gives us an
opportunity to invest in this thriving community, bringing new jobs and a host of new and exciting products.”
The new store, located in the Long Beach Towne Center at 7575 Carson Blvd., opens at 9 a.m. on June 4, with a grand opening
celebration throughout the weekend featuring live music and a variety of wine, beer and spirits tastings for the public.
In addition, Total Wine & More has partnered with the Long Beach
Aquarium of the Pacific to offer patrons an opportunity
to give back during the store’s grand opening weekend.
“The local community is at the heart of all that we do,” says Trone. “We recognize that the aquarium is a source of tremendous
economic and educational value to Long Beach, and we are pleased to partner with this important charitable organization
to bring increased recognition and support to its worthy endeavors.”
During opening weekend, ten percent of all beer and wine sales will be donated to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The new Long Beach Total Wine & More store, which boasts 24,200 square feet of retail space, offers an unparalleled collection of
more than 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers, including hard-to-find labels and locally produced product.
The store will also feature innovative technologies that help local customers to deepen their knowledge of wines, beers and spirits,
including a state-of-the-art tasting bar where customers can sample and learn about products; in-store iPads boasting a
proprietary food and wine pairing app; as well as a tech-equipped education center in which the company will host
interactive classes and events.
“We approach customer service in a unique way,” says Trone. “We always set out to create a ‘wow’ factor when customers first
enter the store. From there, we deepen the positive experience by giving them an opportunity to learn more about the
history and stories behind our products.”
One of the key differences that set Total Wine & More apart from competitors is its commitment to wine, beer and spirits
education, according to Trone.
Each Total Wine & More sales team member receives over 100 hours of training prior to working on the store floor, with
specialized instruction on various regions, production methods, varietals, brew styles, and tasting analyses.
In addition, Total Wine employees are provided with continuous training throughout the year and an opportunity to
participate in week-long educational trips to key wine regions in California and Europe.
“By keeping customer service a top priority and ensuring that our staff is highly trained, we are able to deliver a true
neighborhood store with the selection and price of a superstore,” says Trone.
Total Wine & More operates 115 wine superstores in 16 states. The company’s vast selection of products, combined with low
everyday prices and expertly trained wine associates, brings a unique shopping experience to the customer.
Total Wine & More has the distinction of being a four-time national retailer of the year – recognized by Beverage
Dynamics in 2008, Market Watch in 2006 and Wine Enthusiast in 2004 and 2014. Since opening its first store in 1991, Total Wine & More has been committed to being the premier wine retailer in every community that it serves.
