PREMIER FOOD AND DRINK TASTING EVENT BENEFITTING

OF EXTRAORDINARY CULINARY FARE

Santa Monica, CA – On July 25th, the 4th Annual Taste of Summer, a one-night-only exclusive food and drink tasting event, will be hosted by the Fulfillment Fund Leadership Council. Honorary chairs for the evening will be “Top Chef” alumna and one of Los Angeles’ hottest chefs, Nyesha Arrington, confectioner and Chef Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections (named the Best Chocolatier in LA by Los Angeles Magazine) and Lori Corbin, KABC food and fitness reporter.

All proceeds will benefit the Fulfillment Fund, a nonprofit college access organization that helps make college a reality for thousands of students growing up in educationally and economically under-resourced communities in Los Angeles.

The Victorian in Santa Monica will provide the stunning backdrop for over 500 guests who will enjoy delicious food from an array of world-renowned and local chefs and restaurants as well as libations from high-end alcohol, wineries and craft breweries. Music will be provided by DJ Mark Chill and DJ Matt Urbano.

“I genuinely feel that any legacy left to individuals is through education," says honorary chair Chef Nyesha Arrington. "Sharing my passion through food education is an honor.” “One of the great joys of working with food is in teaching others, so education is incredibly important to me,” says honorary Chef Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections. “It’s an honor to participate in Taste of Summer and help the Fulfillment Fund open the doors of higher education to so many young people in Los Angeles."

In 2014, Taste of Summer raised over $80,000 for the Fulfillment Fund, helping local students overcome obstacles to pursue a life-changing college education.

Serving the Los Angeles community for 38 years, the Fulfillment Fund makes college a reality for students in educationally and economically under-resourced communities. By providing a college access curriculum, college counseling, mentoring, scholarships and other individualized support, the Fulfillment Fund helps students get to college and realize their educational dreams. Nine in 10 Fulfillment Fund high school graduates go on to college, compared to only five in 10 of low-income students nationally.
