CELEBRITIES DISCOVERED DIAMONDS, JETS AND A SAFE WORLD AT THE MAKE THE DISCOVERY MILLION DOLLAR RETREAT
HONORING THE 2006 ACADEMY AWARDS
(HOLLYWOOD, CA,) March 5, 2006 — The “bling buzz” on the street hailed Alliance Worldwide Communications, Inc. “Make the Discovery Million Dollar Retreat”
as one of the best retreats during Oscar® week for the second year in a row. The company not only hosted the daytime retreat but also coordinated the official launch dinner for Fadia Otte of Fadia Creations, showcasing the “Safe World Peace” necklace at L'Orangerie Restaurant in Beverly Hills on that same evening. Two events in one day? Are they crazy? Well…yes.
“Award show season is the best time of the year to introduce new brands, faces and designers,” said Heather Taylor, CEO of Alliance Worldwide Communications, Inc. “We knew we had to host and coordinate as many events as possible for our clients during Oscar® week in order to make a dramatic impact on the media and celebrities.”
As guests were ‘shuttled’ back and forth in golf carts resembling Hummers and Escalades from valet to the majestic gated entrance of the retreat to the official red carpet, several celebrities were heard commenting that “Make the Discovery” was one of the best retreats during the Oscars. What makes that possible?
“The location makes our retreat special,” said Taylor. “We have been fortunate to find a private and beautiful home each year to host the event. The luxurious showcases look spectacular in a exquisite home-setting and it gives our retreat a special vibe.”
Each year a majestic estate is chosen carefully by Alliance to hold the “Make the Discovery Million Dollar Retreat”. The location of the retreat is not released to guests or the media until three days prior to the event date in order to protect the celebrities and build the excitement about the house, the million dollar showcases and the overall theme. This year’s theme was “to honor past and present Hollywood” and it certainly reined true with the Hollywood movie décor and the artwork of Olympian,
Jesse Raudales honoring African American celebrities and athletes including Ray Charles, Coretta Scott King, Mohamed Ali and Richard Pryor.
This year, Eric Shore and Fred Paul’s gorgeous mansion was the selected home to showcase diamonds, pearls, fashion and assorted specialty items for attendees. Once inside, the guests “discovered” luxury product displays and gifts provided by Paris’
Fadia Creations, L.A. based S.A. Leather and Jewelry designs,
Yana K Spring 2006 fashions, Glory clothing,
Ducati motorcycles, Eminence organic skin care, Mikey Toledano
hand bags, Avion Private Jet Club, and many more luxury items while they sipped on martini’s at the Bombay Sapphire bar.
The stars were pampered by top hair stylist Eric Bachelet (his international client list includes Heidi Klum), received wellness consultations and massages from expert, Dr. Brenda Malka and her staff, ‘cozied’ up by the fire for manicures and pedicures from Color Club, indulged in organic skincare facials from Eminence and the men treated themselves to the ‘perfect shave’ from The Shave of Beverly Hills. Tana Hoy,
celebrity psychic medium, was also on hand to share readings with the stars. Catering was provided by Merlot International; photography by Robert “Todd” Williamson.
Other gift items included gift certificates from Merlot International Catering, Tigi Bedhead “Superstar” thickening spray, Ecover ecological washing liquid, Biotene dental kits, Body Wealth hair care, Color Club nail polish, the official ball of the World Adult Kickball Association, “Million Dollar Baby” Posh Tees, music from Sanctuary artists: Ray J, Morrissey and Earth, Wind and Fire, make up application by Gingerluxe, Sun Milk and Shark energy drinks.
But it wasn’t all “bling and bags” for the guests during the retreat – Fadia Otte of Fadia Creations also encouraged guests to join her “Safe World” campaign and wear her custom designed “Safe World Peace” necklace in order to promote a better and safer world.
The partial guest list included: Ludacris (from the Oscar® winning film, CRASH; Hustle & Flow), Shaun Toub (from the Oscar® winning film, CRASH), Timilee Romolini (Cold Case); Rachel Grant (Brotherhood of Blood; Die Another Day Bond Girl); Santino Rice (Project Runway); Shauna Sand-Lamas (The Deviants; Playboy Playmate); Élodie Bouchez (Alias); Marshelle Clark (Earth, Wind, and Fire); Nadia Bjorlin (I could have been a Genius w/ Sharon Stone); Eva La Rue (CSI Miami); Oris Erhuero (Sometimes in April); Dorian Gregory (Charmed); Pauly Shore (Minding the Store); Sala Baker (Lord of the Rings); Tequan Richmond (Everybody Hates Chris); Bubba Lewis (handpicked by Clint Eastwood for upcoming “Flags of Our Fathers); Kerry Rhodes (New York Jets); John Singleton (director) and many, many more.
The total value of the Million Dollar retreat? About 4 million dollars worth of goods were showcased on March 3rd. What a discovery!
